Real Wedding: Ellie & Rob’s Romantic Vineyard Wedding

For this week’s blog, we’re reflecting on one of our favorite patriotic weddings! Ellie and John celebrated their special day on a warm, sunny, and beautiful 4th of July. This vintage and romantic celebration of love will definitely leave you speechless!   The venue, which is nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains, features a vineyard hillside, a simple and darling little farmhouse, and a large field of lush and green grass. Weddings on the 4th of July aren’t always easy. It’s always blazingly hot outside- but our flowers conquered the 95 degree heat, refusing to wilt and maintaining their beauty, Ellie & Rob said “I do” underneath the beautiful (and equally convenient) large oak tree. Flanking the sides of the ceremony site were two wine barrels. Atop these barrels were large floral arrangements with silver dollar eucalyptus cascading down the sides. We used a mixture of light creme and pink rose petals to create this aisle. Smilax garland along with smaller hand tied florals were draped along the aisle way.  We personally stained the wooden arbor that …

Real Wedding: Ivory and Blush Florals Stun at the Hyatt

The Reddy wedding will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Not only was the beautiful bride such a pleasure to work with, but this was our first truly massive wedding.  With a guest count well over 1,000, every detail mattered.  Jeannie and her entire team at Details Details worked tirelessly to communicate the bride’s vision with Shawna and the entire SY & Co. crew. Our warehouse has never been quite so dominated by one event before, and the energy was practically bouncing off of the walls! It truly is an amazing experience to see a large event like this go from simple sketches to real life. Enjoy these amazing images from Lin & Jirsa Photography!  The best place to start when talking about this ceremony may as well be at the entrance! Here stood large golden mirrors with elegant white calligraphy reading various romantic sayings. We collected a bunch of glamorous gold urns and brass cups that were filled with petite florals. Next to the mirrors were fresh and fragrant strands of jasmine shipped in …

Real Wedding: A Luxurious Purple & Gold Evening at Pelican Hill

Lauren and Jacob’s wedding at Pelican Hill is definitely one of the highlights of 2015 for the SY & Co. team. The design was multi-faceted, utilizing mirrored tabletops, glimmering chandeliers, and candlelight to complement the luxurious gold and purple color palette. Lauren and Jacob’s ceremony took advantage of Pelican Hill’s beautiful rotunda. We wrapped the front pillars of the structure in a matching almond chiffon that flowed majestically in the breezy Newport air. The aisle treatment was simple yet beautiful, as we formed one solid strip of rose petals rather than whimsically scattering. Next to the couple as they said their vows were large mirrored columns with clear glass reflection vases and large, luscious purple and red floral arrangements. The guests were treated to a luxurious seating design as we alternated rows with white lounge furniture and clear ghost chairs. To accent, we placed rich white furs on every few seats! We loved this unique seating style. As guests enjoyed their cocktail hour, we put the finishing touches on the reception! This beautiful design consisted of …

Real Wedding: Ethnic Ceremony with a Modern Twist

In San Diego, California, Ravi and Anar said their vows underneath a beautiful May sky. The wedding beautifully combined a new and organic design while continuing and paying homage to ethnic tradition. Guests were seated underneath almond chiffon draping with mahogany chiavari chairs to match. Along the aisle we scattered colorful rose petals matching the florals used in the mandap. The stage, painted in a light cream color with decorative panels at the front, sat undernead a preexisting covered area. We of course wanted to add more to this preexisting structure and so we used florals that had a very organic feel. This allowed for our florals to intertwine and flow nicely with the greenery that was already on the structure. Garland cascaded down the sides in an asymmetrical fashion with florals consisted of numerous garden roses, spray roses, orchids, and more. Additionally, we strung floral droplets with crystal accents above the couple’s heads.   Personal florals for this ceremony were absolutely beautiful. Ravi’s bouquet was made up of similar florals to that of the mandap …
